Gilmorehill G12 Theatre

.. [Return to Glasgow Theatres Index]

Located within Glasgow University Campus, Gilmorehill G12 is an impressive multi-functional venue, home to the versatile James Arnott Theatre and the contemporary and full-equipped Andrew Stewart Cinema. The building also houses the University's Department of Theatre, Film and Television Studies, providing undergraduates and graduates state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.

Gilmorehill G12 is strongly supported by Glasgow University and aims to celebrate and enrich Glasgow's cultural life, to promote and showcase film and theatre events and to highlight the diversity of student drama groups and performing departments within the University of Glasgow. In 1997, the venue received extensive renovation thanks to funding from the Scottish Arts Council National Lottery Fund.

This West End Theatre is proud to present an eclectic and extraordinary plethora of theatre, film and children's shows this autumn and winter. The James Arnott Theatre will stage the return of 2004 hit, The Lost Ones. This hilarious but poignant production encapsulates creativity, design and anarchic live music with a magical touch.

Children and family-friendly stage performances are well represented at Gilmorehill G12 and this autumn events will feature Big Baby presented by Visible Fictions, the return of the successful Inspiration Festival, showcasing A Joshua Tree and Around the World in 80 minutes.

The autumn film season will feature a selection of David Lynch classics including The Elephant Man, Blue Velvet, Lost Highway and extensive array of world cinema. Gilmorehill G12 plays host to themed cinematic events such as cult classic The Whicker Man for Halloween and a St Andrew's Night Celebration featuring a showing of Brigadoon with complimentary shortbread and whisky to mark the occasion.
