Built in 1904, The King's Theatre is one of Glasgow's most significant theatres, designed by prolific theatre architect Frank Matcham and has showcased a host of top stars and performances ever since.

It is home to possibly one of the best Christmas pantomimes in the UK that has featured great Scottish comedians, Stanley Baxter, Jimmy Logan, Rikki Fulton, Jack Milroy and more recently, Gerard Kelly and Elaine C Smith. The Kings's Theatre played host to the inauguration of Glasgow's European City of Culture in 1990 and is a high profile venue for Glasgow's amateur groups.

The Ambassador Theatre Group now manages the Theatre since September 2002, however, Glasgow City Council remain the proud owners of this venue, which has entertained millions of Glaswegians over the years. The King's continues to feature first class performances, including musicals, pantomimes, drama, dance and comedy.

The Ambassador Group has increased accessibility at the King's Theatre to ensure that all members of the audience can access facilities and enjoy performances. State-the-art Sennheiser infra red listening systems are now on offer and can be arranged by calling the box office at the telephone number above. Wheelchair positions are available at the rear section of the stalls and pavement-level access is available at the Elmbank Street Entrance.
